What is a Colonic?
A colonic (sometimes also called a high colonic) is a colon cleaning treatment that is done in a medical setting; it’s basically a high intensity enema with a lot more water but a lot less mess. A tube is inserted into the rectum and large amount of water is flushed into the colon which removes fecal material as it flushes through the colon. This procedure is not too unpleasant but it’s definitely not for everyone. About 20 gallons of water is pushed into the colon and then the water and waste is removed with another tube. This may be done several times and the treatment may last 45 minutes to an hour. It is not a messy or smelly procedure as you might think and is a procedure that can be done quickly and then you can immediately resume your normal daily activities.
