The Reason Why Every Body Loves Lasagna
There are countless lasagna recipes that you can find on the Internet or a cookbook. The meat mixture and ingredients may vary but mainly there are two main sauces that are often used, the white and the red sauce. You can alternate the sauces between the layers of pasta and the meat mixture. You can start with white on the bottom and red sauce on top, but you can do it any way you like. A delectable lasagna dish can also contain tomato sauce, spinach, eggplant meat, and cheeses like ricotta, Parmesan and mozzarella.
This is a Lasagna easy recipe you can try at home.
Easy Beef Lasagna with Red and White Sauce
500g lasagna noodles
For white sauce:
1 cup evaporated milk
2 tbsp butter
2 teaspoon flour
Salt and pepper to taste
For the red sauce:
½ kg lean ground beef
1 celery, chopped finely
1 cloves garlic, chopped finely
1 onions, chopped finely
1 big can tomato sauce
3 tbsp tomato paste
Bay leaf
Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup Parmesan
2 cups grated quick melt cheese
Mix first the white sauce. Heat the evaporated milk but do not bring to boil. Remove from heat. In another small sauce pot, melt the butter over low heat before adding the flour, salt and pepper. Stir the butter constantly for a minute before adding the hot milk. Use a whisk to combine the butter and milk mixture thoroughly. Let it simmer for at least 1 minute.
Now, mix the ingredients for the red sauce. Sauté onions, garlic and celery, and then add the ground meat. Cook for 5 minutes and add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, bay leaf, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer over low heat for 15 minutes while stirring it constantly.
Cook lasagna noodles by following the package’s instruction. Spread an ample amount of butter at the base of a baking pan before putting the first layer of noodles. Then add the white sauce and then the quick melt cheese on the top of the noodles before adding another layer of noodles. Pour and spread the red sauce and the quick melt cheese over the second layer of noodles. Repeat the procedure but do not forget to put the Parmesan and the remaining quick melt cheese on top. Bake at 325◦ for 30 minutes. Let it set at room temperature before serving.
If you want to avoid eating high cholesterol foods I would recommend you to make a vegetarian lasagane.
