Silver dollars

Ever wonder what the most widely collected silver coins in the world are?  Well, if you guessed U.S. silver dollars, you are right.  There are thousands of people who do not consider themselves to be coin collectors, but still have invested in bags of silver dollars. There are many millions more who own smaller numbers of silver dollars stored away in dresser drawers and jelly jars.  Do you have any of these coins at your house?

Also called “cartwheels”, silver dollars can bear two different designs. The ones that were created between the years of 1878-1904 and again in 1921 are named after their designer George T. Morgan, and simply known as Morgans. The silver dollars forged between 1921 and 1935 are known as Peace dollars,  commemorating the culmination of World War I.
