Should you get Invisalign Braces
Are your teeth crooked or do you have gaps in your teeth? Braces are one of the most common ways to fix your smile. In the past braces were silver or clear in color and adhered directly to the teeth. New advancements in technology have created new ways to improve your smile. Invisalign is a relatively new process that will allow you to straighten your teeth but no one will be able to tell that you have braces. Your Birmingham Dental clinic will be able to talk to you about the cost of Invisalign and if this is the right type of method to use for your teeth.
Impressions of your teeth will need to be made and then the Birmingham family dentist will send these impressions to a lab where they will be made into braces that fit over your teeth. Using computerized technology, the braces will be created and you will need to head into the dental office to have them fit over the teeth and ensure that they fit snugly.
Invisalign is clear and it’s barley visible to everyone else. Depending upon your teeth situation you may need to have the braces cover your entire mouth or you may need it on just a few teeth. Initially the braces may be uncomfortable as your teeth are moving and adjusting but after a few weeks they will not hurt and they will not cause any discomfort.
Major tooth adjustments will need metal brackets and wires so you will not be a candidate for Invisalign. Young children and young teens are typically not candidates for Invisalign but older teens and most adults are candidates. Invisalign is much more expensive from traditional braces and most dental offices do have payment plans you can work out in order to afford this treatment plan.
