As a parent, it can be very difficult to see your child suffering from eczema. You will also find it hard to calm your child down and prevent him or her from scratching the eczema. With this, it is imperative that you find yourself a cure as early on as possible. There are many conventional remedies for eczema that are available; however, most, if not all of these prescribed medications have bad side effects which affect adults, let alone a child? That maybe the reason why most parents are reluctant to use corticosteroids and other topical ointments and who can blame them right? There are also some parents who do not want to give their child antihistamines or antibiotics because they are afraid that long term usage of such prescription drugs might leave a bad effect on their child’s well being.

The surest and safest way of curing this dreadful skin disorder is to follow a natural approach. Here are a couple of things that you can try;

The first step that you must take is to prevent your child from scratching the eczema. Cut your child’s fingernails short or you can make them wear gloves, so they could avoid breaking their skin whenever they cannot resist the urge to scratch it. Essential oils are also perfect eczema cures for children. Massage your child’s skin with almond, coconut or olive oil everyday after bathing. Oils are great for soothing the skin and are also effective in locking the moisture into their skin.

You can also use rich emollients such as cocoa butter or Shea butter. These can significantly reduce the dryness and itchy sensation that they are experiencing. Harsh ingredients found in soaps, detergents you wash their clothes with are sometimes what causes facial eczema. Whenever you are out to buy your cleaning products, look for a mild and hypoallergenic variant. Make it also a point that you rinse their clothes thoroughly, so there are no traces of cleaning agents left in their clothing.
