Portable AC With No Vent
A recent visitor to my website asked if there was no such thing as a portable air conditioning vent without. I wrote back that I had never heard of one, but would check it just in case some new advances in portable air conditioning had slipped by me.
What I found was the Haier Commercial Cool 14 000 Btu Portable Air Conditioner. In this description, it is no reason to install a valve, but then goes on to say a “window exhaust kit included with purchase.
I think what they’re trying to do is to persuade you and me that the term “inventory” should apply to fixed installations only like that for drier, and temporary installations, such as those used in ventless portable air conditioner, are not really holes at all – they are “window exhaust kit.”
Call it what you want, need one way or another, the warm air generated by the compressor to be exhausted from the room. So I guess if you purchase a Haier is your “window kitting” the hot air out of the window rather than to vent it like any other.
The fact of the matter is there is no such thing as a portable air conditioner no vent. So if you are looking for a portable cooling unit that does not require venting (and once again the term “portable” is subject to interpretation), you have three options: a fan, a small window air conditioner, or a portable swamp cooler – also known as a portable evaporative cooler. No matter which one you decide to get, the benefits of a portable ac unit are amazing. You can cool a room no matter which room you decide to be in. Just roll the portable AC unit around with you and you’re all set. It’s amazing how wonderful these machines are.
