Merchant Accounts and Dropshipping
Set up Merchant Account
Your merchant account is what will allow you to take credit card payments on your dropshipping website. Even though you are not ready to start selling just yet, just like setting up a business, merchant accounts can take a while to set up so it’s a good thing to get started early.
PayPal. PayPal is another form of payment that is commonly used with eBay, and is becoming a common form of payment on the mainstream internet. PayPal is free to use, and if you register a Premier PayPal Account, you can accept credit cards through it. You may want to offer PayPal as a payment method, as you want to be able to accommodate anyone willing to spend money on your Website.
*Tip – With an actual merchant account, you can use a virtual terminal, which allows you to accept payments outside your website. For example, if someone approaches you and wants to buy something from you, you can run his card without charging him the price listed on your site. You can give him another price, like a discount. It is worth it to have a merchant account, as you can then be versatile enough to accept anyone’s preferred form of payment.
