Liposculpture Recovery: The First Few Days

Patients having had liposculpture will go through a more intense recovery phase the first few days following surgery. Upon exiting the treatment facility, he or she should have a guardian with them – and by this it is meant that the patient should have someone drive them home and attend to them for safety reasons after their surgery.

It is normal and advisable to wear a compression garment for at least the first few days, and possibly extending into a few weeks, after surgery. This will help reduce swelling and limit the risk of infection.

Most patients are able to return to work or otherwise resume their normal activities, minus any physically intense labor, within a week, with only a small amount of physical discomfort.

A more complete description of the recovery process from liposculpture surgery is available at the Liposculpture Guide.
