This is an a3 printer review for the Xerox Phaser 790DP. You don’t hear about Xerox as much as you used to, but the Phaser has certainly revamped their reputation. It has been a popular model among consumers, one that most reviewers have raved about. Customer ratings have also been stellar. The most amazing thing about this printer is the opportunity it currently offers. It has a list price of $2299, but at this point in time, there are a few used units selling for as low as $300 on Amazon. While used units always require some homework, at that price, it’s definitely worth putting in the effort. The discount is enormous. This model is a color laser printer that is capable of A3 Plus and Tabloid Extra prints. Tabloid Extra is 12 x 18 inches. Resolution of prints can reach as high as 600 x 600 dots per inch. This is a little below average, but most people buying this printer aren’t too concerned with resolution. For speed, it can print up to 26 pages per minute black and 6 pages per minute color. The speed for black is about average. Since this printer is best suited for busy office environments, black is most likely going to be your primary need. If you’re looking for speed with color, you might want to consider a different model. Check out the Lexmark W859dn or the OKI B930n.
The Phaser 790DP can hold up to 400 sheets. It has parallel and 10/100Base-TX interface options. Its dimensions are 25.2 x 28.7 x 19.3 inches and it weighs 162 lbs. One of the most impressive aspects of this machine is that it’s capable of handling heavyweight, coated gloss, and transparency media at affordable prices. It’s also capable of two-sided printing.
