5 Weird Animals On Earth
There are many weird animals to be found on this planet. Because of their habitat, their method of catching prey or other factors, these creatures have evolved to either look very odd to us humans or have unusual habits. The following are just a few examples of these weird and wonderful animals.
The Axolotl or Mexican Walking Fish not only looks weird, it also comes under the category of rare animals because it is close to extinction. This animal is technically a type of salamander, rather than a fish and originally comes from the lake that lies below Mexico City. They have become popular as pets in recent years, especially in Japan, due to their facial characteristics that make them look like a cartoon character.
The Leafy Sea dragon is another underwater creature with a bizarre appearance. These creatures are camouflaged perfectly to look like a piece of floating seaweed and are virtually undetectable from the real thing. The other curious property of these rare animals is that the male, rather than the female carries the eggs in order to reproduce.
There seems to be no shortage of weird animals in the sea as the Blob fish is one of the craziest animals you’ll ever see, looking somewhat like a melted face. Blob fish live in deep water and are formed mainly from a jelly like mass which allows them to float around and swallow whatever food passes by.
Back on dry land, the Angora rabbit is one of the most bizarre looking household pets you can buy. This rabbit has incredibly long silky fur, making it look like a puffball when it is combed out. Angora wool is commonly used for knitting fluffy sweaters.
The Aye-aye is another cute animal that looks a bit like a baby alien. These nocturnal creatures tap on trees to find food and then pulls out the grubs with its long fingers through holes in the wood.
